Katie Holmes' contacting 3-word depiction of Dawson's Stream co-star Obi Ndefo following unfortunate passing

Hollywood star Katie Holmes has shared a loving tribute to her former Dawson's Creek castmate Obi Ndefo after the heartbreaking news of his death was announced.

Katie Holmes lovingly described her former Dawson's Creek co-star Obi Ndefo as "a kind man" as she penned a heartfelt tribute to the actor following the news of his tragic death.

After the devastating news broke that Obi had passed over the weekend, the 45-year-old actress reposted a sweet Instagram reel dedicated to the star. In the adorable video montage, Katie and Obi were seen in their Dawson's Creek era as they beamed and embraced in a hug inside of a sun-lit kitchen. The pair developed a friendship on set after starring as their characters Joey Potter and Obi as Bodie Wells in the six-season-long '90s drama series.

After Katie reposted the video on her Instagram Story, she added her own personal message that read: "He was wonderful to work with and such a kind man. I send prayers and grace to his family. Rest in Peace."

The original reel was created by another one of their Dawson's Creek co-stars, Mary-Margaret Humes, who starred as the mother Gail Leery on the show. The 70-year-old actress captioned the tribute video: "These words don't come easy. It's hard for me to conceive that you have left us, my dear friend.”

She continued: "You always were and will always be a bright, shining light. What an example of pure, unfiltered love and tenacity you set as you faced life's challenges recently. I will cherish all of our messages of love and support to each other over the past few years. Rest in peace, sweet warrior."

Ogi passed away last week at the age of 51 years old, with his sister later confirming that his death came after his "heart gave out during his longstanding battle against eating disorder orthorexia." This comes as the Hollywood star faced a difficult few years as he was a victim of a horrific hit-and-run accident back in 2019. The accident occurred when Ogi was unloading his shopping cart in a Los Angeles supermarket parking lot when an SUV veered out of its lane and crashed into him, resulting in both of his legs needing to be amputated.
